AI Foundation Interface Design
Panel-to-foundation connections with v7.0 AI bearing optimization, real-time capacity checks, and automated anchor layout.
v7.0 Enhancements¶
? AI bearing optimization (minimum width for capacity)
? Real-time capacity checks (instant pass/fail)
? Automated anchor layout (optimal bolt spacing)
? 3D foundation preview (visualize interface)
? Grout volume calculator (material takeoff)
Typical Workflow¶
User: 12'×10'×6" panel, 8,000 lbs weight
AI analyzes foundation bearing:
"Foundation: 3000 PSI concrete"
"Required bearing: 4.2" width minimum"
"Recommend: 6" bearing (SF = 2.1) ?"
"Anchor bolts: 3/4" dia @ 4'-0" o.c."
"Grout pocket: 2" deep × 14" wide"
"Grout volume: 1.8 CF (0.067 CY)"
User accepts, details auto-configured ?
AI Bearing Design¶
Automatic Sizing:
Panel load: 8,000 lbs
Foundation: f'c = 3000 PSI
Allowable: 0.85 × 3000 = 2,550 PSI
Required area: 8,000 / 2,550 = 3.14 sq in per foot width
Required width: 3.14 / 12 = 0.26"... use 4" minimum
AI recommends: 6" (includes safety factor 2.0+)
Panel width: 144"
Total bearing: 144" × 6" = 864 sq in
Bearing stress: 8,000 / 864 = 9.3 PSI ? OK!
Anchor Bolt Optimization¶
AI Layout:
Based on lateral loads, AI determines:
Load case: 30 PSF wind, 10' height
Lateral: 30 × 10 × 12 = 3,600 lbs
Shear per bolt (3/4" A307): 9,000 lbs capacity
Required bolts: 3,600 / 9,000 = 0.4 ? Use 2 minimum
AI recommends: 3 bolts @ 4'-0" o.c.
(Conservative, allows for tolerance)
Auto-positioned at 2', 6', 10' from left edge
Real-Time Validation¶
Instant Feedback:
As user adjusts parameters:
Bearing width: 4" ? Status: ?? Marginal (SF = 1.2)
Bearing width: 6" ? Status: ? Good (SF = 2.1)
Bearing width: 8" ? Status: ? Conservative (SF = 2.8)
AI color codes:
Red ?: Fails (< SF 1.0)
Yellow ??: Marginal (SF 1.0-1.5)
Green ?: Good (SF 1.5-3.0)
Blue ??: Over-designed (SF > 3.0)
Enhancement Status: ? v7.0 ENHANCED [8/38]
