Membership & Tokens

What ConstructiVision costs, what a token buys, and what your subscription includes.

ConstructiVision uses two simple, independent things — a membership and tokens. You can use either one without the other, and both are managed from one account at simplestruct.com.

  • Membership is a recurring subscription. It unlocks the cv-web browser editor (full editing), the AI features (panel auto-layout and pick simulation), and credits panels to your organization’s balance while it is active: 10 a month on the monthly plan, 100 a year on the annual plan. One panel is one token.

  • Tokens are one-time purchases. They never expire, they are pooled at the organization level (everyone in your company draws from the same balance), and they are spent only when you produce deliverables — never on saving or opening your own work.

Rollout status

Billing, the trial, and token purchases are live today. Some in-product enforcement points are still being rolled out — where ConstructiVision does not yet prompt for a token, no token is consumed. Nothing you can do in the product today spends a token without telling you.

What is always free

  • Viewing and browsing projects in cv-web (read-only) — no membership, no tokens.

  • Saving, autosaving, and opening your own work, in CAD and in cv-web.

  • ConstructiVision’s native project files — .cvpanel, .cvsite, .cvp, .cvt. Moving your data between cv-web and CAD never costs anything; they are transport and storage, not deliverables.

  • Re-printing and re-exporting a drawing that already holds a license (see below) — forever, including fully offline.

What a token buys

In cv-web: one deliverable = one token. A PDF panel book, a DXF export, a CSV materials list, or a printed page each spend one token from the organization balance.

In CAD (the AutoCAD plugin): one token buys a permanent license for one drawing. The first time a paired seat spends a token on a drawing, the license is written into the drawing itself. From then on, that drawing prints and exports free, forever, with no internet connection required — on any machine, including a field laptop. The license travels with the .dwg.

Buy 10 tokens, license 10 drawings, print them forever.

During the current rollout, the CAD token is claimed when you create or edit a panel in a paired seat; a drawing that already holds its license is never charged again.

Working as a team

ConstructiVision accounts are organized around your company, not just around you. The first person at a company to sign up creates the company’s organization automatically — it is keyed to the email domain of the address they signed up with. Everyone who signs up later with an address at that same domain joins the same organization automatically. There is nothing to configure and no invitation to send: signing up with your @yourcompany.com address is joining your team.

Why sign-up requires a company email

Sign-up is declined for public and disposable email providers — gmail.com, outlook.com, yahoo.com, icloud.com, protonmail.com, and the like — with the message “… is a public or disposable email provider. Please sign up with a company email.”

This is a direct consequence of how teams work: your organization is defined by your email domain, and only people who genuinely hold an address at that domain can join it. A public domain can’t define a company — everyone at gmail.com is not one team — so public domains can’t create organizations at all. If your company routes mail through a hosted provider but under its own domain (you@yourcompany.com), that works fine; it is the domain in the address that matters, not who runs the mail server.

What your team shares

Everything billing-related is pooled at the organization level:

  • The token balance. There is one balance for the whole team. Anyone in the organization spends from it, and any token pack anyone buys tops it up for everyone.

  • Drawing licenses. A licensed drawing belongs to the organization, not to the person who spent the token — any teammate can print and export a drawing that someone else on the team licensed, on any paired seat.

  • Membership. One membership covers the organization. When it is active, every member gets the cv-web editor and the AI features; when it lapses, it lapses for everyone.

  • Cloud projects. Projects synced through cv-web belong to the organization — teammates at your domain see and work with the same project list.

  • The billing history. The ledger on the Billing page is the organization’s ledger — you will see your teammates’ grants and spends alongside your own (see Manage your billing).

The free trial is per-organization, not per-person: the 7 days of membership and the 10 trial tokens are granted once, when the organization is first created. Teammates who sign up later share that same trial and balance — they do not each receive their own.

What stays per person

  • Workstation pairings. Pairing is per machine and per person — each of you links your own seats, and the Authorized workstations list on your Billing page shows only your own machines. You cannot see or revoke a teammate’s workstation, and vice versa. See Pair your workstation.

  • Learning progress. The checklists and guide progress in cv-web are tracked per account — your own, not the team’s.

  • Your sign-in itself. Each person signs in with their own email; accounts are individual even though billing is shared.

  • The Stripe billing relationship. The Manage subscription portal (change plan, update card, invoices) is tied to the person who purchased the plan — teammates see the shared membership status and balance, but only the purchaser can open the Stripe portal for it.

Is there a team-management screen?

Not yet. Today your team is simply everyone who signed up at your company’s email domain — members are added by signing up, and there is no screen for inviting, listing, or removing members. If you need a member’s access removed (for example, someone leaves the company), contact SimpleStruct support.

Signing in your CAD seat

The AutoCAD plugin connects to your organization’s account by signing in — done once per machine, with no codes to type:

  1. On first start, ConstructiVision asks “Link this workstation to your SimpleStruct account?” — click Yes. (Or sign in any time from CV → Sign In (Link Workstation).)

  2. Your browser opens the SimpleStruct sign-in page — sign in with Google, LinkedIn, Autodesk, or email.

  3. The workstation links automatically; back in AutoCAD you’ll see “paired — this workstation is linked to your SimpleStruct account.” If you’re already signed in to the same account inside AutoCAD, step 1 is skipped and it links silently.

Notes:

  • Up to 5 devices per user can be linked.

  • A linked device that sits unused for 30 days — or reaches 90 days since it was linked — is automatically deauthorized; just sign in again.

  • An unlinked seat still runs ConstructiVision — signing in is what connects it to your token balance and licenses drawings for offline printing.

  • Fallback: if the browser hand-off is blocked on your network, the sign-in page also shows a short one-time code — run CVIDN_PAIR_CODE in AutoCAD and paste it.

What it means

What to do

“Panel license required. Open cv-web → Pricing to add tokens, or contact your org admin.”

Your organization’s token balance is empty.

Buy a token pack at simplestruct.com, or ask your admin to.

“You’re out of tokens. Buy more at simplestruct.com to continue printing and exporting.”

Same — the balance hit zero mid-work.

Same as above. Already-licensed drawings still print free.

“License server unreachable. Check your internet connection and try again.”

The seat could not reach the license service to claim a new license.

Check your connection and retry. Drawings that are already licensed keep working offline.

“Your device was deauthorized. Sign in again at simplestruct.com/cv-cad-login to continue.”

The pairing was revoked or idle-expired.

Sign in and pair the machine again.

“AI features … require an active membership.”

Membership lapsed; AI tools are locked.

FAQ

Do tokens expire? No. Never — including trial tokens and monthly drip tokens.

Who owns the tokens? Your organization. Everyone on your team spends from the same pool — see Working as a team.

Do I need internet to print? Only the first time a drawing is licensed. After that the license lives inside the drawing and verifies offline.

Does saving my work cost tokens? No. Saves, autosaves, and all native ConstructiVision file formats are free. Tokens are only for deliverables (PDF, DXF, CSV, print) and drawing licenses.

What happens to my drawings if I stop paying? Nothing. Licensed drawings keep printing and exporting forever; your project files remain yours.
