412 — Revision notes¶
The record of what changed, and when.
Note
This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.
Where it is¶
Utilities → Revision Notes.
Two ways a revision gets made¶
This is worth knowing before you open the dialog, because most revisions are not made here:
Issuing a panel book with Finalize on |
stamps a revision on every panel in scope, and takes the note you type there |
This dialog |
where those revisions live afterwards — and Stamp adds one by hand |
So the usual path is: issue the book, write the note at that moment, and it lands here. This dialog is the ledger, not the usual door in.
Why the note matters more than it looks¶
A revision note is read by people who were not in the room and are not you — a checker months later, a fabricator asking why the panel changed, whoever picks the job up after you.
“Updated” tells them nothing. “Opening moved 6” east per RFI 14” tells them what happened and why.
Stamp, and the revision sheet¶
Stamp adds a revision here directly, for a change that did not come with a book issue.
Print revision sheet is the other half, and easy to miss: it produces the revision history as a document. That is the thing you hand over when somebody asks what changed — the notes are not just an internal ledger, they are issuable.
Removing one¶
Each row can be deleted. Treat that as an edit to the record rather than housekeeping: a removed revision is a change nobody can trace afterwards — and it will be missing from the printed sheet too.
What to take away¶
Most revisions arrive here from issuing a book with Finalize ticked. Write the note properly at that moment, because this is where it will be read.
