103 — Recess & Blockout

Most of what you cut into a panel face comes out of this one dialog.

Two ways in, same dialog:

  • Main Panel Details → tick Recess/Blockout

  • ConstructiVision menu → Recess/Blockout (c:cv-feat-recess)

Route A holds the redraw until you accept Main Panel Details. Route B draws on OK.

Note

This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.

Enable comes first

Six rows are visible, and every field in a row is greyed until that row’s Enable is ticked. The dialog is paged — it holds thirty rows in all, reached through the page tabs (1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-30). Filling the visible six is not the limit; turn the page. A row can hold a complete set of numbers and cut nothing at all. If your blockout is not appearing, check Enable before you check your dimensions.

Seven more features live in this dialog

These are not separate tools. They are this dialog, configured:

Beam pocket

Non-rectangular blockout

Exposed aggregate

Learning the row once gets you all of them. That is why the series covers the dialog rather than filming seven near-identical videos.

What to take away

Thickness is the difference that matters most: less than the panel is a recess, all the way through is a blockout. Everything else on the row places it.
