141 — Your account in AutoCAD¶
The Account button shows your SimpleStruct account without leaving AutoCAD: the email this workstation is signed in with, your organization, role and plan, your membership and when it renews, your organization’s panel tokens, and whether this computer is paired.
It is read only. Nothing in it can be changed from AutoCAD — to change anything, you use Edit on the web, which takes you to your account in your web browser.
Note
This is your SimpleStruct account, not your Autodesk ID. Signing in to AutoCAD itself is covered in lesson 0. Linking this workstation to your SimpleStruct account is covered in Pair your workstation. This button only reads the account the workstation is already linked to.
Where it is¶
Toolbar: Account, the last button on the ConstructiVision Site & Tools toolbar, just after Program Options. Its tooltip reads Your SimpleStruct account, read only: email, organization, plan and panel tokens … Edit it on the web.
Menu: ConstructiVision → Account…
Command:
CV-ACCOUNT.
It opens with a site drawing open (AAAsite1 in this lesson) or a panel drawing (the ConstructiVision Sample Building). The details come from your SimpleStruct account, so this lesson assumes the workstation is already linked (paired).
Try it on AAAsite1¶
Open AAAsite1, the site drawing of the Arlington Airport A project.
Click Account on the ConstructiVision Site & Tools toolbar, or choose ConstructiVision → Account…
The SimpleStruct Account dialog opens. Its first line reads: “Your account, read only. To change anything, use Edit on the web.”
Read down the list — see the table below.
Click Close. Nothing in the drawing or the account has changed.

Watching your panel tokens¶
Licensing a panel drawing uses one panel token. You can watch that happen here.
On the ConstructiVision Sample Building (CSB001), the Panel tokens line was read before and after ConstructiVision licensed one new panel: it read exactly one token lower. A later save that needed no token left it unchanged, with Refresh pressed to be sure.
The same information shows per panel, beside the OK button of ConstructiVision - Main Panel Details:
the line beside OK |
what it means |
|---|---|
“N tokens - OK uses 1”, where N is your organization’s balance |
this panel is not licensed yet; OK will use one token |
“Licensed - OK uses no token” |
this panel is already licensed |
“0 tokens - OK will be refused” |
there are no tokens left, so OK will not go ahead |
What this lesson does not cover¶
Changing your plan, billing or tokens. That is done on the web, in your browser — see Manage your billing.
Linking a workstation. See Pair your workstation; it opens a browser sign-in.
The welcome screen in ConstructiVision on the web. Lesson 400 covers that screen; this lesson covers the AutoCAD dialog only.
Re-linking this computer to a different SimpleStruct account. After a re-link, this computer uses the new account’s panel tokens. Tokens held by the old account stay with that account, and nothing tells you so at the time — a known open defect, CV-3048.

A companion video for this lesson is planned alongside the written curriculum.
