204 — Brace Points, in cv-web

The cv-web companion to tutorial 104. The inserts a panel is braced from once it is standing.

Note

This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.

Before you start

Open cv-web, load the ConstructiVision Sample Building sample project, and switch to Panel mode in the top bar. Features live as groups in the properties panel on the right.

Why the count matters more than the placement

Brace points feed two things downstream, and this is where cv-web adds something worth seeing: the load per brace — the panel’s weight divided across the points you enabled.

Remove a row and you do not just delete a symbol; you raise the load on every remaining brace. cv-web checks that figure against every panel in the corpus as you edit and marks it when it falls outside what has been seen before.

A brace carrying far more than usual is not necessarily wrong. It is worth a second look before the panel is stood up, which is exactly what the marker is for.

Honest differences

  • No modal dialog. cv-cad opens a dialog; cv-web expands a group in place.

  • No sheet border. The browser shows the panel, not a shop drawing sheet.

Everything the two products both expose should agree exactly. A value that differs between them is a defect worth reporting, not a difference to work around.
