220 — Panel attributes

The facts about the panel that are not geometry — how many, and how it is to be finished.

Note

This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.

Where it is

Program Options → Panel Attributes. No cap in the title, and by now that tells you what kind of dialog it is: a panel has one set of attributes, so there is nothing to count.

It is the same shape as Top Profile — fields, no list.

Quantity is the one that multiplies

Quantity is how many identical panels this drawing represents. It is the field with the largest downstream effect: the materials list totals through it, so a quantity of eight means eight panels’ worth of concrete, steel and hardware in the takeoff.

A wrong quantity does not look wrong on the drawing. It looks wrong on the order.

Finish, Color and Sealer travel to the plant

Finish, Color and Sealer are not drafting notes. They are instructions to whoever casts and finishes the panel, and they ride with it through the book and the export.

Notes is the free-text field beside them — the place for anything the other fields cannot say. Worth using sparingly for that reason: a note is read by a person, not by the takeoff.

Where it sits in the set

Everything else in Program Options describes the panel’s shape. This describes the panel as an item — how many of it exist and how it is to be treated. It is the last entry in the grid for that reason.

What to take away

One set per panel, no list. Quantity multiplies everything in the takeoff, and finish and sealer are instructions to the plant rather than notes to yourself.
