223 — Pick Points, in cv-web

The lifting inserts a crane hooks to when the panel is stood up. Tutorial 113 places the same set in AutoCAD.

Note

This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.

Where it is

Pick Points, from the panel’s feature list. Eight slots.

How many you actually need

Measured across both sample projects — 146 panels:

86

Four is the working answer for a panel that has them. The dialog offers eight slots; that is headroom, not a target. The 86 panels with none are mostly small panels and site drawings.

If you find yourself filling six or seven, check the panel against a four-point layout first — the corpus says four is what real jobs use.

Placing them

  1. Enable a slot. Each slot is one insert.

  2. Position it on the panel face.

  3. Four slots for a standard panel.

The positions are the deliverable. A lifting insert half a foot from where the drawing says is a different insert, and the panel gets picked from what the drawing says.

Warning

This does not size the insert or certify the lift. ConstructiVision records where the picks go and carries that through to the panel drawing and the take-off. It does not calculate lifting stresses, choose an insert capacity, or approve a rigging arrangement. Those are engineering decisions and they belong to the engineer of record.

That is true in the browser and in AutoCAD equally — neither product certifies a lift.

the panel’s feature list

a tile on Main Panel Details, and its own menu command

AutoCAD gives this feature two routes — the tile defers its redraw to Main Panel Details’ OK, the command redraws immediately. cv-web has the one place. Lesson 101 explains why that distinction exists on the AutoCAD side.
