202 — Slab Dowels, in cv-web

The cv-web companion to tutorial 102. Same feature, same panel, in the browser.

Note

This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.

Before you start

Open cv-web, load the ConstructiVision Sample Building sample project, and switch to Panel mode in the top bar. The properties panel on the right is where a panel’s features live.

Where it is

In AutoCAD, Slab Dowels has its own dialog — you reach it from Main Panel Details or from the ConstructiVision menu. In cv-web there are no modal dialogs: every feature is a group in the properties panel, and you open it in place.

Scroll to Slab Dowels and click the group header. The number beside a group is how many rows it currently holds.

Same six values

Tutorial 102 sets a dowel run from six columns, and they mean the same thing here:

column

what it means

Enable

whether the row draws at all

Intersect

how the bar meets the slab

Elevation

Finished Floor to the centre of the row

Max Spacing

the widest gap allowed — the run fills in at this spacing or closer

Length

how far the bar extends beyond the panel

Inset

how far in from the panel face

The two readings worth repeating, because they are the ones people get wrong in either product: elevation is to the centre of the row, and length is the part beyond the panel, not the whole bar.

Watch the review markers

As values change, a small ● or ▲ may appear beside a figure — cv-web comparing it against every panel in the corpus. Neither one blocks you; an unusual panel is not a wrong panel. Hover to see the observed range and how many panels it was measured from.

Slab dowels feed that check indirectly: they are part of what the panel carries, and the derived figures beside them — weight, load per brace, load per pick — are all flagged the same way.

Honest differences

  • No modal dialog. cv-cad opens Slab Dowel Details; cv-web expands a group in place.

  • No sheet border. The browser shows the panel, not a shop drawing sheet.

Everything the two products both expose should agree exactly. A value that differs between them is a defect worth reporting, not a difference to work around.

What to take away

Same feature, same six numbers, different frame. If you have done tutorial 102, you already know what these rows mean — only where you find them has changed.
