409 — Drawing setup

Two settings, and both of them change every sheet you produce.

Note

This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.

Where it is

Utilities → Drawing Setup. It is a small dialog and worth visiting before you draw rather than after.

Units

Imperial (inches) or Metric (mm). This is the one to settle first, because it changes how every dimension in the product reads back to you.

Note

Setting units here does not convert what you typed elsewhere. Some parts of the product take feet — panel placement on the site is in feet, while the grid around it is in inches. Units controls how the panel editor presents dimensions; it does not make every field in every dialog agree with each other.

Title block

Standard

24 × 36 in

Full

30 × 42 in

None

no border

That is the sheet your drawings are issued on, so it belongs to the job rather than to a panel — set it once for the project.

None is a real option, not an omission: a drawing going into somebody else’s sheet does not want your border on it.

Why set it early

The panel book issues on whatever this says. Changing it after a book has gone out means the next issue does not match the last one — which is the kind of difference that gets noticed on site rather than in the office.

What to take away

Units first, because everything reads through it. Title block once, because it is the sheet the job is issued on.
