209 — Weld Connections, in cv-web¶
The cv-web companion to tutorial 109. The same embedded plates, in the browser.
Note
This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.
Before you start¶
Open cv-web, load the ConstructiVision Sample Building sample project, and switch to Panel mode. Scroll the properties panel to Weld Connections.
Where it is¶
In AutoCAD the welds live in a nine-row grid — the largest dialog in the product. Here they are a group in the properties panel, opened in place. Each row is one embedded plate, and it is the same record either way.
What you control, and what the product does¶
Tutorial 109 teaches Enable and stops, and that is not the lesson being lazy: on that row, Distance and Elevation are greyed because the product owns them. The row arrives carrying a position, and Enable decides whether it is used.
The same idea appears in tutorials 105, 106 and 107. A greyed field means the answer is already known — it is not a field you are failing to reach.
Warning
Welds may be missing here even when they are correct in AutoCAD (CV-1378). Carrying weld
rows through the .cvp export does not work on most real panels. It is a documented issue
in the export, not in your drawing and not in this lesson. If cv-cad shows welds and cv-web
shows none, that is what you are seeing.
Honest differences¶
No modal dialog. cv-cad opens a nine-row grid; cv-web expands a group in place.
No sheet border. The browser shows the panel, not a shop drawing sheet.
What to take away¶
Welds are what makes a set of panels a building. Both products describe the same plates; only the frame around them differs — and until CV-1378 is fixed, only cv-cad can be trusted to show them all.
