407 — Issuing the panel book

The panel book is the deliverable — the drawings that leave the office.

Note

This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.

Where it is

Export → Panel Book PDF, or File → Export Panel Book. Same dialog, two names — worth knowing so you do not go hunting for one when you have found the other.

Scope, then Finalize

Scope decides which panels go in the book.

Finalize is the one to understand before you tick it:

Stamp a new revision on every panel in scope as this book is issued.

That is not a formatting option. Ticking it changes the panels — every one in scope gets a new revision. Leave it clear and you get the same drawings without touching their revision history.

When you do tick it, What changed appears, and it is worth writing properly: it is the revision note that will sit against those panels for the rest of the job, read by people who were not in the room.

Issue the book, or print a copy

That distinction is the whole dialog:

Finalize off

a copy — for checking, for a meeting, for yourself

Finalize on

an issue — the panels are revised and the book is the record

Tokens are per drawing

1 token per panel drawing, and panels your organization has already exported are free.

If you do not have enough, it does not refuse — it exports what it can and tells you:

Partial book exported: N of M drawings.

Read that line. A partial book looks like a book, and the count is the only thing that says otherwise.

What to take away

Scope chooses the panels, Finalize decides whether this is an issue or a copy, and the count on a partial export is the line that tells you the book is short.
