218 — Side slabs

A slab that attaches to the side of the panel — a wing, a loading apron, a return.

Note

This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.

Where it is

Program Options → Side Slabs. Cap in the title: Side Slabs (2 max) — one per side.

Empty until you add one

This is worth showing because every slot-based feature behaves the same way and it is easy to misread: the dialog opens empty, with no rows at all. There is a ▲ button that adds one.

An empty feature dialog is not a broken dialog. It is a panel that does not have that feature yet — and until you press ▲ there is nothing to fill in, which is why the fields you expected are not there.

Two, one per side

Two side slabs, which is one for each side of the panel. If both sides take a slab, that is the pair; most panels use neither.

Cast with the panel

Like footing shapes, a side slab is geometry the panel is cast with. It belongs to the panel drawing and the takeoff, not to the site plan.

No presets

Eighth feature dialog, same rule: no palette, because a side slab is sized by what it is serving.

What to take away

Press ▲ to add one — an empty dialog means the panel has none yet. Two per panel, one per side, cast with the panel rather than poured against it.
