403 — Exporting the site plan to DXF¶
The site plan as a drawing: where each panel sits, the grid, and the notes.
Note
This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.
Where it is¶
File → Export Site DXF, or the Export menu. If no site plan is configured it says so and points you at Site Setup rather than exporting an empty file.
It counts your placements before you spend anything¶
The dialog names the project and then tells you the number that matters:
0 panel placement(s) included.
Read that line. A site can have its grid drawn and its wall runs laid out and still export nothing, because the export carries placements, not the plan around them.
Three layers, not fourteen¶

That is not a limitation so much as a description of what a site plan is. A panel drawing carries every feature you cut into the panel; a site plan carries where the panels go, the grid they are set out from, and what you wrote on it.
It exports what you PLACED, not what you listed¶
This is the part that catches people, and it follows directly from how the site is built.
Listing panel marks against a wall run in Site Setup does not place those panels. The site plan draws the marks as a label on the wall, but the export reads placements — the positions you set with Place Panel.
Warning
A site where every wall run has its marks listed, but no panels placed, exports an empty drawing. The screen shows your marks on the walls, so it looks finished. The DXF will not.
If your site DXF comes out blank, this is almost certainly why — check Place Panel before suspecting the export.
Units¶
The site DXF is written in inches (1 ft = 12 units), while Place Panel takes feet. The conversion happens for you, so this only matters if you are measuring in the exported file and expecting the numbers you typed.
Tokens¶
1 token, and free if your organization has already exported this site plan — the same per-artifact rule as the panel DXF, so re-exporting after a change does not charge again.
What to take away¶
The site DXF is your placements, drawn. If a panel is not placed it is not in the file, however clearly it is listed on the plan.
