212 — Man doors, in cv-web¶
A door for people, cut into the panel.
Note
This lesson also exists in the browser. Work it in ConstructiVision on the web — same steps, same values, so you can follow either and end up with the same panel.
Where it is¶
Program Options → Man Doors. Cap in the title: Man Doors (6 max).
This one has the same name in both products¶
Unlike Windows — which AutoCAD calls a Standard Opening — a man door is a Man Door on both sides. AutoCAD’s dialog is Man Door Details.
Worth saying because the naming is not uniformly different: some features share a name and some do not, so it is worth checking rather than assuming either way.
The pattern again¶
Third dialog with the same shape, and by now it should be predictable:
Common Door Sizes — collapsed palette at the top; open it and pick a size.
A row per door — width, height, position, with Ctr to centre.
Six doors, same as windows, against four rough openings.
Which one do you want?¶
Man door |
a door for people, at a standard size |
Rough opening |
a framed hole somebody else fits out |
Dock leveler |
the truck-height blockout — its own feature, 3 max |
They all cut a hole. Choosing the right one is what makes the takeoff and the shop drawing say the right thing about it.
It is checked against the corpus¶
drvar is watched by the corpus review, so a door well outside
the usual gets a marker before the panel is cast.
What to take away¶
Six per panel, start from a common size, and this is one of the features that keeps its name in AutoCAD.
